This ring was made by looking very closely at a broken and tumbled moon snail shell found at Rainbow Haven beach. Noticing the shell fit as a ring, I decided to carve the shell in wax making some adjustments to fit the finger/ hand more comfortably. If I had all the time in the world I would love to spend it this way, quietly observing and making the tiniest adjustments.
This ring is one of a kind, cast in sterling silver. The fine silver was raised by heating the ring with a soft flame and quenched 10 times. Over time, this surface will change and I look forward to seeing how it does.
It fits as a size 6, but because of its irregular shape it can accommodate a few finger sizes. *it can not be resized.
