Gift a Shell Casting workshop!
Workshop participants will bring their own small shell or use one from my collection. During the workshop we will learn how to make natural molds with alginate. These are natural/ temporary molds and are 100% compostable. We will then create wax models from our molds and craft a custom bail (point of attachment) out of wax wire. After the workshop the pieces will be cast in sterling silver or bronze and then professionally finished by me. The piece will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after our workshop together.
Cost of workshop is $250 + HST
*The fee now includes the cost of material + casting + cleanup + polishing
Note: I want to emphasis that even though we will be sampling multiple pieces in wax, only ONE piece will be cast. In past workshops extra models have resulted in alot of extra and uncompensated work for me. The option to take your extra models and cast them on your own is not a problem. I would also prefer if you stick to making a small shell pendant for this workshop, you can explore other types of jewelry using this technique in your own time.
Silk cord is now included with your shell!
